The Gardeners Rest pub.
Today, at 3pm, 23 November 2009, after 2½ years of repairing the Gardeners Rest pub in Neepsend Lane is open for public. After long refurbishment pub looks very refreshing. "We have 10 handpulled beers including 4 from the Sheffield Brewery Co. Ltd, plus guests from all over the country" say Pat Munnelly. Week before opening Pat and Eddy spend a lot of time to restore all relations with musicians and customers. Hopefully in a short time all regular groups of customers will be back. Before the closure, this pub hosts many local groups, like chess club, rowing club and many others.

Pat and Eddy believes that their pub will continue their business as usual for local real ale community with regular art competitions, book exchange service and of course with well known local bands, playing real music.

This pub is very important for the Sheffield Brewery company, because it is an official brewery tap, which permanently have 4 different Sheffield Brewery beers on tap. This will significantly increase Brewery sales.

The pub, standing near to the River Don was seriously damaged by Sheffield flood, 25 June 2007. During this bad day water from the river completely fill the cellar and even cover the bar. All furniture was completely destroyed. It took about two and half years of negotiations with builders and insurance company to restore everything. This was long time of madness as say Eddy Munnelly.
